Biography:
Gordon Howard is an internationally acclaimed wildlife artist, writer, photographer and educator.
He has a permanent exhibit in the atrium of the Zoology Department at Oxford University and presented his work and safaris on five World Cruises aboard QE 2.
Televised lectures on his African safaris and art were part of the 'World Celebrity Lectures' Series aboard Queen Elizabeth 2, where he appeared on the QE2 World Cruise program with Nelson Mandela and Paul Daniels in March 1998 and on the Millenium World Cruise in 2000.
Howard featured in the 'The Lion Man' series as the 'Artist in Residence' for New Zealand TV2, where he painted Royal white Bengal tigers and Barbary lions 'live' on site and advised the animation team for 'The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe' .
The Italian publication "Meridiani" Estate 1991 produced for South African Airways in Milan, featured a front cover and five illustrated pages of his art.
The Masters of the Italian Renaissance remain an enduring inspiration to Howards work, and he sees his interpretation of wild Africa through their eyes.
Sir John Major, Baroness Margaret Thatcher are amongst his more noted collectors.
